NEW LONDON, Conn. -- The Mitchell College women's volleyball team lost 3-1 to New England College on Saturday afternoon in a New England Collegiate Conference showdown at the Yarnall Athletic Center.
The Mariners won the opening set 25-23, then dropped three consecutive sets by scores of 25-18, 29-27, and 25-14.
Olivia DeLoach led Mitchell with 13 kills and a team-high 16 digs. Molly Steel-Miller added 11 kills, while Jenna Blankenship was credited with 13 digs, and Claire Binfield handed out 29 assists.
Amber Thi paced the Pilgrims with a match-high 17 kills and Renee McBride-Rogers joined her in double figures with 10 kills of her own. Meanwhile, Krissy Cardello had 17 digs and Arianna Blaize Llamas tallied 30 assists.
The Mariners (10-10 overall, 0-3 NECC) will play at Eastern Nazarene College on Wednesday, October 26th at 7:00pm. New England College (10-15 overall, 4-1 NECC) travel to Keene State on Tuesday, October 25th for a 6:00pm match.
