HENNIKER, N.H. -- The Mitchell College women's volleyball team was defeated 3-0 on Thursday night in the semifinal round of the New England Collegiate Conference tournament at Bridges Gymnasium.
The Pilgrims won set scores of 25-20, 26-24- and 25-16.
NEC advances to face top-seeded Eastern Nazarene College in the conference finals on Sunday, November 6 at a time to be determined. Mitchell ends the season with an overall record of 12-12.
Sophomore Allison Blum paced the Mariners with eight kills, while senior Olivia DeLoach and junior Sarah Aviles added seven kills each. Freshman libero Julia Lent, who was NECC Co-Defensive Player of the Year, led the visiting squad with 13 digs, Blum was credited with 11, and senior Claire Binfield dished out a match-high 25 assists.
Amber Thi led NEC with 17 kills and 17 digs.
