BOSTON, Mass. – The Mitchell College men's soccer team fell by a final of 4-0 on Saturday afternoon to Emmanuel College in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) clash at Roberto Clemente Field.
The Saints scored two goals in each half to run their winning streak to four consecutive games. Joe Anderson broke open a scoreless game in the 25th minute, scoring his fourth goal of the fall on a penalty kick, then Ryan Ragosta doubled the lead for the home squad 15 minutes later. Leading by two coming out of halftime, the Saints quickly put the Mariners in a three-goal deficit, as Joey Soucy notched his third goal of the season three minutes into the second stanza. Soucy tacked on one more goal at the 63:29 mark to cap the scoring for the day. Jacob Beck, Pedro Vasquez, and Shane Lazorchak each tallied one assist in the win for Emmanuel.
The Mariners were outshot 25-8, including a 13-3 edge for Emmanuel in shots on goal. Freshman Sean Khan (Wethersfield, Conn.) and senior Dylan Lucey (Lebanon, Conn.) finished with two shots each, while Gabe Ansani (Trumbull, Conn.), Nathan Da Cruz (Seymour, Conn.), and Snadooby Robert (New London, Conn.) logged shots on net.
