QUINCY, Mass. -- The Mitchell College men's soccer team lost 5-0 in a conerence showdown on Saturday afternoon against Eastern Nazarene. The loss brought to an end the Mariners three game winning streak.
After holding the Lions to just one goal in the first half, the home team broke out for four goals in the second half.
Rafael Romero led Eastern Nazarene, scoring three three goals, while Joaquin Ferraro and Sheelens Ostine also found the back of the net. Romero's first goal came five minutes into the game, and he then scored to make it 2-0 just over three minutes into the second half.
Sophomore Matt Ladd led the Mitchell squad with six shots, three on goal. Meanwhile, Dylan Lucey and Nolan Clack each got shots off during the game.
Joey Rosa made seven saves for the visitors.
Mitchell (5-7-0, 1-1 NECC) will return to action on Wednesday, October 19, at New England College at 6:00 pm.
