MILTON, Mass. -- The Mitchell College men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision at Curry College on Wednesday night at Walter M. Katz Field.
The Colonels recorded a goal in each half to improve to 4-2-3 on the season. Eddie Medina notched the game-winning goal in the 26th minute for his first marker of the season.
Mitchell goalkeeper Dylan Kinsella made three saves against 19 total shots. Curry keeper made one stop to preserve the clean sheet.
Curry got on the scoreboard midway through the first half when a short corner was served up into the box. A Mitchell defender headed the ball away, but Medina followed up with a header from 15 yards out that found the back of the net.
The Mariners pushed for the equalizer in the second half but managed only one shot on goal, a rocket by Nolan Clack from 25 yards out with 5:40 remaining. The Colonels then went up 2-0 in the 88th minute on an own goal, as an errant header played back to the keeper was off the mark.
Mitchell (0-6-1 overall) will look to rebound when it opens conference play at New England College on Saturday, October 2 at 5 p.m.
