LEICESTER, Mass. - The Mitchell College men's soccer team earned a 3-0 road win at Becker College on Saturday afternoon in New England Collegiate Conference action at Alumni Field.
The Mariners scored twice in the opening half and tacked on an insurance goal in the second, and goalkeeper Seth Strader made three saves to record his first collegiate shutout. Mitchell improved to 2-8-2 overall and 2-1-1 in league play.
Jose Roman III put Mitchell in front early, scoring in the sixth minute on a breakaway header. Nearly 20 minutes later, TJ Condon launched a shot from 30 yards out to beat the keeper for the 2-0 advantage. The goals were the second of the year for both Roman and Condon.
Andrew Storton tallied his third goal of the season off a free kick in the 67th minute for the final score of the contest. Mitchell enjoyed an 18-8 advantage on shots and a 15-4 edge on corner kicks.
Becker (1-12-1 overall, 1-4-0 NECC) goalkeeper Devin Ramos finished with nine saves.
Mitchell will next host Newbury College on Tuesday, October 18 at 3 p.m.
