BOSTON – Mitchell College dropped its final non-conference match-up of the season, falling 1-0 to Suffolk University on Monday afternoon in a men's soccer showdown at James A. Sartori Field.
The Rams netted the game's only goal in the first half and made the margin stand. Sunjoon Tenorio accounted for the lone goal, his third tally over the past two games. Goalkeeper Kyle Rosa finished with four saves to record the clean sheet.
Tenorio scored his team-leading ninth goal of the season in the 17th minute on an unassisted effort following a corner kick. Rosa and the Suffolk defense took care of the rest, denying Mitchell of the equalizer over the final 73 minutes of the contest.
Diego Di Carlantonio put a pair of shots on frame to lead the Mariners' attack. Goalkeeper Seth Strader finished with four saves to keep Mitchell in the contest.
Mitchell (1-9-1 overall) will next play at Elms College on Saturday, October 19 at 2 p.m.
