HENNIKER, N.H. – The New England College women's lacrosse team won 18-2 against Mitchell College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Saturday afternoon at Don Melander.
Sophomore Chloe Jennings (New London, Conn.) tallied both goals for the Mariners, while adding seven draw controls and five ground balls, both team-high figures.
Meadow Gilchrist led NEC with seven goals, three assists, three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
The Pilgrims scored six unanswered goals in the first quarter and led 10-0 before Jennings found the back of the net with 6:34 remaining until halftime. Her second goal game with 1:34 left in the contest. Senior Kyrsten Lucas (Manchester, MD) added four ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Junior goalkeeper Arrianna Stark (Scotia-Glenville, N.Y.) made eight saves on the day for the Mariners.
The Mariners (1-9, 1-7 GNAC) return home to play Anna Maria College on Wednesday, April 16, at 2:00 pm. NEC (6-8, 4-4) is back on the field on Wednesday, April 16, when they travel to Simmons University.
