Women's LAX Falls at Framingham State
FRAMINGHAM, Mass. – Six Framingham State University women's lacrosse players scored two goals or more en route to a 19-4 victory over Mitchell College at the Maple Street field on Wednesday evening.
With the win the Rams move to 1-1 and the Mariners fall to 0-3.
Kristen Hoggins scored the first of her three goals to break a 2-2 tie early in the first half. The Rams offense then caught fire, scoring 11 unanswered goals to close out the half. Framingham State then scored the first five goals of the second stanza to cement the win.
Morghan Cassella scored a game-high four goals while Stephanie Leonard added three goals and an assist. Jessica Graham and Claryssa Cunniff also contributed a pair of scores each on the day for the Rams.
Amanda Rowan and Ashley Murtha each tallied a pair of goals to account for the Mitchell offense. Murtha's goals both came in the first half while Rowan potted hers in the second.
Taylor Dansereau made 17 saves for Mitchell in goal while Kelsey Morgan recorded four saves for the Rams.
Mitchell's home game against Bay Path University on Saturday, March 28 has been postponed. The Mariners are next slated to play at Elms College on Tuesday, March 31 at 4 p.m.
