DUDLEY, Mass. -- The Mitchell College women's lacrosse team lost by a 14-1 final against Nichols College on Saturday afternoon at Vendetti Field.
Sam Ahaesy scored four goals while Hadley Houghton added a hat trick to lead the Bison to victory. Nichols, which improved to 5-2 overall, outshot Mitchell by a 32-2 margin. The Mariners' lone goal came off the stick of Daniella Holland, her first of the season.
Houghton scored all three goals in the first half while Ahaesy tacked on a pair, staking the Bison to a 9-0 lead by intermission. Nichols added two scores in the third quarter and three more in the fourth to lead 14-0 before Holland put the Mariners on the scoreboard with 3:21 left in the contest.
Gaby Estupinan recorded eight saves in goal for the Mariners, who dropped to 1-3 on the season. Stephanie Costabile and Alex Novakowski scooped up seven ground balls apiece to lead all players.
Mitchell will next play at Purchase College on Wednesday, March 23 at 4 p.m.
