Women's LAX Drops Season Finale at Daniel Webster
NASHUA, N.H. – The Mitchell College women's lacrosse team dropped a 12-6 decision at Daniel Webster College on Saturday afternoon in the team's regular season finale.
Madeline Roulier filled the stat sheet for the Eagles with five goals, two assists, seven ground balls, seven draw controls and six caused turnovers. Roulier notched three goals and an assist in the first half and tacked on two goals and one helper in the second.
The Eagles (1-11, 1-6 NECC) also saw three-goal performances from Alexis Pavelock and Amanda Dargie. Dargie pulled in a game-high nine ground balls. Natalie Nagle added a solo goal for the winners.
Amanda Rowan led the Mariners (0-11 overall, 0-7 NECC) with four goals while Tiana Fillmore and Samantha Ryan each potted single strikes. Taylor Dansereau made 23 saves in goal for Mitchell while Michelle Davis stopped six shots for the hosts.
DWC, which finished with a 35-12 advantage in shots on goal and a 44-34 differential in ground balls, built a 4-1 lead over the opening half and led 5-3 at the break.
Dargie and Roulier netted back-to-back goals 14 seconds apart early in the second to open up a 7-3 lead only to see Rowan answer 18 ticks later to make it a 7-4 game. Ryan added her score with 23:22 remaining to tighten things up at 7-5.
However, the Eagles answered with four straight to pull away with scores coming from Roulier (23:05 left), Pavelock (14:20), Nagle (8:30) and Dargie to make it 11-5 with six minutes to go.
