The Mariners got off to a hot start, jumping out to a two-goal lead early thanks to a pair of goals from Chloe Jennings. The Falcons answered with a goal at the 7:11 mark of the opening quarter, but Cordero put Mitchell back up by two with a free position goal with just under six minutes remaining in the stanza.
