VikSALEM, Mass. – The Mitchell College women's lacrosse team suffered a 16-1 setback on Thursday afternoon, losing in a non-conference game against Salem State University at Alumni Field.
Sophomore Chloe Jennings (New London, Conn.) netted the lone goal for the Mariners, who were outshot 24-6. Jennings caused five turnovers and two draw controls.
The Vikings jumped out to a nine-goal lead after the first quarter, and led 12-1 at halftime. Siobhan Smith and Laura Young each notched hat tricks for Salem, while Jordan Turcotte assisted on three goals.

The Mariners (1-4, 1-2 GNAC) will look to bounce back on Saturday, March 29, when they host Dean College in a GNAC (Great Northeast Athletic Conference) tilt at 11:00 am. The Vikings (7-2, 0-0 MASCAC) play at Mount Holyoke in their next game on Tuesday, April 1.
