Members of Men’s Cross Country Race in GNAC Championship
NORTHFIELD, VT – Three members of the Mitchell College men's cross country team raced in the 2024 GNAC Championship on Saturday afternoon hosted by Norwich University.
In the men's 8k race, sophomore Jonathan Hecker (Falls Church, VA) was the top finished for Mitchell, placing 58th overall with a time of 35:27. Not far behind was junior Tim O'Hayre (Hull, Mass.) who completed the event in 37:12, good for 70th overall, while freshman Stefan Mier (Providence, R.I.) rounded out the Mitchell finishers with a time of 40:58.
Norwich won the 2024 GNAC Men's Cross Country Championship with 30 points, while Saint Joseph's (ME) finished as runners-up with 57 points. Cody Thompson of Colby-Sawyer was the top individual champion and GNAC Runner of the Year, finishing first on a 25:43.1 time.
In the women's 6k race, Colby-Sawyer won the GNAC Championship with 53 points, while Emmanuel finished as runners-up with 83 points. Emma McAvoy of Rivier was the top individual champion and GNAC Runner of the Year, finishing first on a 23:48.3 time.
