MBB Places Six on NECC Academic All-Conference Team
MARSHFIELD, Mass. - The Mitchell College men's basketball team had six student-athletes named to the New England Collegiate Conference Winter/Spring Academic All-Conference Team on Wednesday.
Representing the Mariners were juniors Malik Chase, Connel Henderson, Brendan Miller and Julius Hemingway and sophomores Dra Harrison and Tyler Peretz. Chase and Henderson were both repeat selections while the other four were first-time honorees.
"These six young men are the epitome of a student-athlete," said head coach Todd Peretz. "Each one has an outstanding work ethic in the classroom and on the court, while also immersing themselves in the campus community."
The six selections were the most by the Mitchell men's basketball team in the 11-year history of the award. The Mariners also had the most recipients of any school in the conference.
To be eligible for NECC Academic All-Conference, a student-athlete must post a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.40 on a scale of 4.00 and must be a sophomore or higher in class standing. Student-athletes who competed in men's and women's basketball, men's volleyball, men's and women's lacrosse, baseball, softball and men's and women's track and field were eligible for winter/spring NECC academic honors.
