Hill Named NECC Player of the Week
ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Mitchell College junior Parris Hill was selected as the New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for men's basketball, as announced by the conference on Monday morning.
Hill averaged 21.5 points and a team-high 18.5 rebounds per game last week while producing a pair of double-doubles. The junior forward scored 24 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in Mitchell's first-ever win over Connecticut College. Hill then netted 19 points and pulled down a school record 24 rebounds at Southern Vermont College while also swatting four shots. The 24 rebounds are the fourth most in a single game in NCAA Division III this season.
Hill earned player of the week honors for the third time this season (January 13, 27). He has started and played in 14 games and is averaging 21.4 points, 10.9 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game. In league play he currently leads the NECC in blocks and ranks second in scoring and third in rebounding.
Mitchell (16-6 overall, 11-3 NECC) will next play at Elms College on Wednesday, February 19 at 8 p.m.
