
Lent Named GNAC Libero of the Week
WINTHROP, Mass. – Mitchell College junior Julia Lent (Miller Place, N.Y.) has been named Libero of the Week by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) for the sport of women's volleyball, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
It marks the third time this season in which Lent has been named Libero of the Week by the conference, having also received the recognition on September 3 and September 9.
Lent racked up 55 total digs across two matches, helping guide the Mariners to a 1-1 mark in conference play. The junior averaged 6.88 digs per set, while surpassing 1,000 total career digs, becoming the first place in program history to reach the milestone.
The libero began the week by posting a career-high 38 digs (7.60 digs per set) in a five set road victory over Elms College. In the match against the Blazers, Lent moved into first place all time in digs and surpassed 1,000. Lent then recorded 17 digs (5.67 digs per set) on Saturday in a GNAC clash with Dean College. She enters the new week leading the GNAC in total digs (338) and digs per set (5.63).
The Mariners (6-11, 2-4 GNAC) return to action on Saturday, October 19, when they face Regis College and Simmons University in a GNAC tri-match hosted by the Sharks.
