Lacrosse Falls to Becker in Season Finale
NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Mitchell College men's lacrosse team (0-10)
fell to Becker College today, 22-6, in their season finale and on a
day in which the program's three seniors were honored. Senior
Ian Gosselin (Uncasville, Conn.) led the way for the Mariners with
three goals and one assist, while fellow senior Zach Ledvina (New
Bedford, Mass.) chipped in with two goals and one assist.
Justin Curtis (Fairfield, Conn.) also closed out his career with
the Mariners today.
Becker jumped ahead by scoring the first five goals of the game,
before Ledvina put Mitchell on the board. Mitchell kept the
game close with two early goals by Gosselin in the second period,
and the Mariners trailed 9-4 at halftime.
The Hawks rattled off eight unanswered goals to start the second
half and never looked back en route to their 9th victory
of the season. Leading the way for Becker was Josh Fask
(Worcester, Mass.) with four goals and one assist, while John
Malcolm (Townsend, Mass.) added three goals.
Adam Grillo (Waterford, Conn.) contributed for the Mariners with
one goal and two assists.
Greg Jameson (Newington, Conn.) made 20 saves for Mitchell, while
Peter Fellows (Boylston, Mass.) stopped 10 Mariner shots.
