WESTON, Mass. -- The Mitchell College men's lacrosse team lost a 14-7 decision to Regis College on Wednesday night in non-conference action at Regis Stadium.

James Giovanniello and Jonathan Urrutia also added markers, and the former also scooped up a game-high eight ground balls. Brent Young led Regis with a game-high five goals and two assists.

The Mariners fell behind 6-0 before finally breaking through with 7:04 remaining in the first quarter on a goal by Giovanniello. The play went back and forth for the next three minutes before Young assisted on a tally from Brian Wagner to give the Pride a 7-1 lead heading into the second quarter.

LePain produced Mitchell's second goal of the night early in the second period, but the Pride quickly responded with goals by Brendon Donahue and Young just 43 seconds apart. Late in the quarter, the Mariners put together sustained offense, using goals by Shields and LePain to cut the Regis advantage to 9-4 at halftime.

The Pride quickly took advantage of a Mitchell penalty early in the third quarter, as Young fed Ryan Richardson for a man-up goal two minutes into the period. Richardson completed his hat trick with a goal three minutes later, but the Mariners stayed in the match thanks to a goal by Urrutia 29 seconds later.

Michael Daras closed out the third-quarter scoring with a goal off a Wagner assist. In the fourth quarter, Mitchell scored twice within 57 seconds on tallies by LePain and Shields, but Regis would finish off the match with goals by Johnson and Daras late in the stanza.
