LAX's Setzko Picks Up Third ROW Honors
ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Mitchell College freshman Jacob Setzko was named New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week for the sport of men's lacrosse, as announced by the league on Monday.
Setzko netted six goals last week for the Mariners. He led Mitchell with three tallies in a road win over Albertus Magnus College and added a hat trick in a loss to Regis College in the regular season finale. He also scooped up seven ground balls for the week and caused a pair of turnovers.
Setzko earned the honor for the third time this season (April 11, March 28). He has played in all 12 games and ranks second on the team in scoring with 30 goals and nine assists for 39 points.
Mitchell (5-7 overall, 3-1 NECC) is the second seed in the 2016 NECC Men's Lacrosse Championship. The Mariners will host third-seeded Becker College in the semifinals on Wednesday, April 27 at 3 p.m. The winner will advance to the title game on April 30 at the site of the highest remaining seed.
