
Lent Named Libero of the Week for Fourth Time
WINTHROP, Mass. - Mitchell College junior Julia Lent (Miller Place, N.Y.) has been named Libero of the Week by the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) for the sport of women's volleyball for the fourth time this season, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
Lent racked up 52 total digs across a pair of matches, helping guide the Mariners to a 1-1 record in GNAC play. Lent averaged 7.43 digs per set, finishing with double-digit digs in both matches, while adding eight assists.
The junior began the week by collecting 13 digs (4.33 digs per set) in a road clash with top- seeded Lasell. She then returned home on Saturday and had a career day in a win over Norwich, tallying 39 digs (9.75 digs per set), setting an individual personal record.
Lent enters the new week leading the conference with 404 total digs and digs per set (5.53).
Additionally, senior Allison Blum (Garden Grove, Cali.) was named to the Weekly Honor Roll. Blum produced a strong week, collecting 22 kills and 29 digs across two matches. The outside hitter added seven service aces, while averaging 3.14 kills per set and 4.14 digs per set. After finishing with five kills and seven digs against Lasell, Blum delivered for Mitchell in a Saturday win over Norwich, racking up 17 kills (4.25 kills per set), 22 digs (5.50 digs per set), and seven service aces.
The Mariners (7-14, 3-7 GNAC) play next at home on Tuesday, October 29, against the University of Saint Joseph.
