Four MBB Players Named to NABC Honors Court
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the 2021-22 NABC Honors Court on Tuesday, recognizing those men's collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the past season.
Four student-athletes from Mitchell College were recognized. Tyler Peretz earned the honor for the second time in his career while Hunter Baillargeon, Ahmani Browne and Samuel Jackson were first-time recipients. To be eligible for the award a student-athlete must be either a junior or senior academically and have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
The Mitchell men's basketball program has produced 16 NABC Honors Court honorees since 2018, the most by a New England Collegiate Conference institution during that span. Peretz is the third Mitchell player to earn the distinction twice, joining former teammates Domenico Santiago and Matt Finke.
Mitchell finished the season with an overall record of 17-11 and captured its third NECC Championship since 2014. The Mariners competed in the NCAA Championship but were eliminated in the opening round by top-ranked and eventual national champion Randolph-Macon College.
