MEN'S SOCCER REMAINS UNDEFEATED
NEW LONDON, CT--Mitchell College men's soccer (2-0-2) remains undefeated after a 1-1 tie in double overtime with Becker College (Leicester, MA) on a sunny, Saturday, September 9th at the Mitchell College campus. Becker leaves New London with a 0-2-1 record on the season.
A physical first half ended scoreless for both teams. The first goal of the game was netted by Becker's Dircilino DeBrito's (SO, New Bedford, MA) header off a cross from teammate Snjezan Telebak (FR Chicago, IL) 71 minutes in. Mitchell found their first goal from Tony Smith's (Hartford, CT) shot 12 yards out five minutes later. Smith was assisted by teammate Chris McKinnel's (SR, Branford, CT) save of an end line pass. Mitchell out shot Becker 16 to 7 on the day.
Goal keeper Ryan West (New Britain, CT) played all 110 minutes and finishing with three saves for the Pequots. Hawk goalie Chris Kirwan finished the game with eight saves.
The Pequots face will take to the road Tuesday, September 12 to face the Bears of Bridegwater State College (Bridgewater, MA). Game time is 3:30 PM.
