Nigro Repeats as NECC Player of the Week
ATTLEBORO, Mass. – For the second week in a row, Mitchell College junior Andrew Nigro was named New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for the sport of men's soccer, as announced by the league on Monday morning.
Nigro recorded four goals and three assists last week to lead Mitchell to a pair of wins. He scored a pair of goals and assisted on two others in a 7-0 victory over Wheelock College as the Mariners remained undefeated in NECC action. Earlier in the week he netted two goals and added an assist in a 5-1 win over Johnson State College.
Nigro, a midfielder, has started all 12 games this season and leads the NECC in scoring with eight goals and five assists for 21 points. The majority of his production has come in league play in which he has accumulated five goals and three assists over three games.
Mitchell (6-5-1 overall, 3-0-0 NECC) will next host Becker College on Saturday, October 17 at noon.
