Iglesias Hits 1000th Career Point Mark in Win Over Daniel Webster
Nashua, N.H. - Jen Iglesias (Waterbury, Conn.) erupted for a
game high 35 points including the 1,000th of her career late in the
second half, guiding the Mitchell College women's basketball team
past host Daniel Webster College, 69-61 in a NECC matchup Thursday
at Mario Vagge Gymnasium.
Iglesias, who also added a game high eight assist and pulled in six
rebounds, became the first player in Mariner program history to
reach the millennium mark in Mitchell's short time as an NCAA
Division III member. She reached the milestone burying the front
end of a two shot foul with 4:33 remaining in the contest.
Destiney Harris (Bristol, Conn.) added 12 points for Mitchell (8-9,
7-2 NECC), while Tania Gee (West Haven, Conn.) added eight
points.
Vanessa Bosques (North Windham, Conn.) led the Eagles (11-9, 6-5
NECC) with 14 points and eight rebounds, while Kirsten Murphy
(Woodstock, Vt.) added 10 and seven boards and Nicole Conley
(Hinesburg, Vt.) chipped in eight points.
The Eagles return to action Saturday hosting Wheelock College at
1:00 p.m. Mitchell visits Elms Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
