
Women's Hoops Falls at Eastern Nazarene

QUINCY, Mass. - The Mitchell College women's basketball team
suffered an 82-52 defeat at Eastern Nazarene College on Tuesday
night at the Lahue PE Center.
The Mariners (0-2 overall) were led by senior Jennifer
Iglesias, who finished with 15 points, three rebounds and three
assists. Shardae Brown led four Lions in double figures with 19
points and added 11 rebounds.
The first half was back and forth until the 6:31 mark when Eastern
Nazarene (2-4 overall) snapped a 21-21 tie with a 9-0 run and never
looked back. The Lions outscored the Mariners 17-7 in the final
minutes and led by 10, 38-28, at the break.
Eastern Nazarene opened the second half with six straight points
and never let its lead dip below double digits the rest of the way.
The Lions held the Mariners to 30 percent shooting in the contest
while hitting at a 45 percent clip. Eastern Nazarene also
controlled the glass for a 60-37 edge in rebounds.
Sophomore Destiney Harris
also finished in double figures for the Mariners with 10 points and
added five rebounds. Freshman Jordan Ringwood
chipped in with a season-high eight points and pulled down three
rebounds.
Mitchell returns to action on Tuesday, December 1 against Albertus
Magnus College. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the Yarnall
Athletic Center.
