NEW LONDON, Conn. -- The Mitchell College women's basketball team returned to action at Connecticut College on Monday afternoon, falling to its crosstown rival by a 76-24 final in non-conference action at Luce Field House.
The Mariners were rusty coming off the holiday break, shooting just 18 percent from the floor while going 2-for-18 from beyond the arc. Haley Garcia finished with five points while Marissa Sweeney added four points and a team-high seven rebounds.
All 11 Conn College players who saw action recorded a field goal, led by 12 points from Nancy Coulverson. The Camels shot 49 percent as a squad and forced 33 turnovers.
Mitchell (2-8 overall) will next host Wheelock College on Saturday, January 6 at 1 p.m.
