NEW LONDON, Conn. – The Mitchell College women's basketball team wrapped up regular season play with a 72-55 victory over Lesley University on Saturday afternoon in New England Collegiate Conference action at the Yarnall Athletic Center.
Playing in the final home game of her career, Amina Wiley set the tone with a career-high 32 points on Senior Day as the Mariners improved to 10-13 overall (2-4 NECC). She also grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds to record her 48th career double-double.

Mitchell scored on its opening possession thanks to a put-back by Wiley and never trailed in the contest. The Mariners scored 14 of the game's first 18 points and led by double digits just over seven minutes into the game.
Lesley closed the quarter strong and trailed just 19-13 after one. In a low-scoring second stanza, Wiley supplied 10 of Mitchell's 14 points as the hosts took a 33-22 lead into the locker room at intermission. Wiley had 16 points at the break to lead all scorers.
The Mariners were never threatened in the second half and extended the lead to as many as 19 in the fourth quarter. McKenna hit a pair of threes and netted 10 of her 15 points in the final period to help secure the win.
Prior to the game, both Wiley and Turner were honored in a special ceremony. The two have been the backbone of the Mitchell program over the past four years. Wiley leads the NECC in scoring and rebounding this season while Turner leads in assists and steals.
Mitchell will be the third seed in next week's NECC Championship, which kicks off with semifinals action on Thursday, February 24. All match-ups and game times will be released by the conference later this weekend.
