WESTON, Mass. - The Regis College women's basketball team stayed perfect in New England Collegiate Conference play on Thursday night, defeating Mitchell College by a score of 83-52.
With the win, the Pride improved to 12-5 (11-0 NECC) on the season, while Mitchell dropped to 5-12 (5-5 NECC).
Regis' Shannon Hayes matched a career high with 10 rebounds and recorded a double-double with 13 points. Amanda Hawkesworth matched Hayes with 13 points of her own to lead the Pride. Brandi Bonneau and Brittany Stone each added 12 points.
A balanced Mitchell attack saw three Mariners score in double figures. Jessica Shepherd led the way with 12 points while Alexandra Kolb added 11. Camille Staggers finished with 10 points and also pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.
Regis dominated on the glass (51-31) with an effort that included 15 offensive rebounds. The Pride clicked from beyond the arc as well, going 9-for-20 from three. The team's nine three-pointers was its second-highest output of the season.
Mitchell returns to action at Elms College on Saturday, January 28 at 4 p.m.
