WSoccer's Woodford Earns NECC Honors
ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Mitchell College women's soccer player Kaylee Woodford was recognized by the New England Collegiate Conference on Monday.
Woodford, a senior goalkeeper, was one of five all-conference honorable mention selections. A total of 27 players—including only three goalies—received all-conference recognition. All awards were determined by a vote of the league's head coaches.
Woodford started all nine NECC contests and played every minute between the pipes. She led the conference in minutes played (835:47) and sported a goals against average of 1.62 and a save percentage of .831. She also recorded a pair of shutouts and ranked third in the league with 74 saves.
Woodford received all-conference recognition all four seasons as the starting goalkeeper for the Mariners. She was named NECC Goalkeeper of the Year and earned a spot on the all-conference team in 2011. She was also a second team pick in 2010 and 2012.
For her career, Woodford played in 59 matches and made 56 starts. She logged over 5,025 minutes in goal and sported a record of 25-27-4 with 16 shutouts. She helped Mitchell to NECC Championship berths in three seasons, including the team's first conference title and NCAA appearance in 2010.
Mitchell (3-11-0 overall) went 3-6-0 in NECC play and finished tied for seventh in the 10-team league.
