NEW LONDON, Conn. – Mitchell College suffered a 9-0 setback in its women's soccer home opener against Albertus Magnus College on Wednesday afternoon at Alumni Field.
Seven different players scored for the Falcons, who picked up their first win of the season. Haley Andrews and Samantha Valentine each found the back of the net twice on the day, and Jaidyn Gillette and Erin Daly each finished with a goal and an assist.
Albertus Magnus held a commanding 45-2 edge in total shots. AMC goalkeeper Cassidy Scofield turned away one shot to record her first clean sheet of the season. Mitchell goalkeeper Drew Johndrow finished with 12 saves.
Mitchell (0-3-0 overall) returns to action at Northern Vermont University on Saturday, September 8 at 1 p.m. Albertus Magnus (1-2-0 overall) will next host Norwich University on Saturday at 1 p.m.
