NASHUA, N.H. – Host Daniel Webster College closed its 2015 season on the short end of a 2-0 decision to Mitchell College in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women's soccer action Saturday at Eagle Field.
Senior Alexandra Mahar netted both first-half goals as the Mariners (4-8-4 overall, 3-4-2 NECC) clinched the fifth seed in the upcoming NECC Championship. The two unassisted goals for Mahar, coming in the second and 31st minutes, were her team-leading eighth and ninth of the season.
Daniel Webster finished its campaign 1-12-2 overall (0-7-2 NECC). Stephanie Evans made 10 saves for the Eagles while Amanda Dargie made three stops in late relief.
The Mariners finished with a 24-5 total shots advantage (15-3 on goal) and registered 12 corner kicks. Katie McBride finished with three saves for Mitchell.
Mitchell will play at fourth-seeded Becker College in the first round of the NECC Championship on Tuesday, November 3.
