NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- The Mitchell College women's soccer team opened up the 2019 season with a 10-0 loss at Albertus Magnus College on Thursday evening at Celentano Field.
The Falcons, who led 4-0 at halftime, added the final six goals in the opening 25:11 of the second stanza. Katherine Raposo netted all three of her goals in the second half and also dished out a pair of assists to lead the charge. Jordan Kikosicki added a pair of scores as Albertus Magnus improved to 1-1 on the season.
The Mariners finished with two shot attempts in the contest, both off the foot of Lindsey Fairbank. She took the final shot of the first half and put it on frame, but Albertus keeper Cassidy Scofield was there to record the save.
Mitchell's Yordi Slover made her collegiate debut in goal and finished with six saves against 29 total shots.
Mitchell (0-1-0 overall) will next play at Anna Maria College on Saturday, September 7 at noon.
