CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Mitchell College women's soccer team opened New England Collegiate Conference play with a 4-0 loss to Lesley University on Wednesday night at BB&N Field.
Claire Hounslow scored a hat trick for the Lynx while Macey Merlo also added a tally. Lesley improved to 11-3-1 overall and remained undefeated in league play at 3-0-0.
Mitchell goalkeeper Angelina Munoz got the starting nod and finished with a season-high nine saves against 31 total shots.
Hounslow netted two of the Lynx's three first-half goals to give the hosts a comfortable lead at intermission. She completed the hat trick in the 62nd minute with an unassisted effort, netting her sixth goal of the year.
Mitchell (4-8-1 overall, 0-1-0 NECC) will next host New England College on Saturday, October 23 at 2:00 p.m.
