Women's Soccer Pair Earns NECC Honors
ATTLEBORO, Mass. – A pair of Mitchell College women's soccer players were honored by the New England Collegiate Conference on Monday afternoon.
Junior Tiana Edwards was selected to the NECC All-Conference Second Team while senior Lindsay Noble was named to the NECC All-Sportsmanship Team. All awards were determined by a vote of the league's head coaches.
Edwards, a defender, earned all-conference honors for the first time in her career. She started and played in all 16 games while helping to anchor the defensive unit. Her first career goal came against Daniel Webster College on September 17, a late tally that tied the game and spurred the Mariners to their first win of the season.
Noble, the other mainstay on the Mitchell back line, also started and played in all 16 games this season. The four-year letterwinner made 62 appearances in the starting lineup and missed only one game in her collegiate career.
Mitchell finished the season with an overall record of 2-14-0 (2-7 NECC). The Mariners were eliminated by top-seeded Elms College in the first round of the NECC Championship on October 29.
