Men's Tennis Falls at Albertus Magnus
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Mitchell College men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision at Albertus Magnus College on Sunday afternoon in non-conference play.
The Mariners (4-2 overall) fell behind 2-1 after doubles and, playing with a jumbled singles lineup that didn't include regular No. 2 Graham Cavanaugh, came up short in all but one singles match.
Orson Sinclair accounted for both of Mitchell's points on the day. He teamed with Adam Diaz at No. 1 doubles to produce an 8-6 win before winning 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2 singles. Diaz rallied back from a set down to force a 10-point tiebreaker (in lieu of a third set) but lost 10-6 at the top spot.
Mitchell returns to conference play at home against Newbury College on Tuesday, April 14 at 3:30 p.m.
