NEW LONDON, Conn. – The top-seeded Mitchell College baseball team advanced to the championship series of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Baseball Tournament, defeating fourth-seeded Colby Sawyer College 7-1 in the seventh and final game of pod play on Sunday afternoon at Alumni Field.

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Senior Michael Gajda (New Britain, Conn.) went 4-6 with a home run, two RBI, and one run scored, as the top-seeded Mitchell College baseball team overcame an early five run deficit and used a seven run fifth inning to defeat #4 Colby-Sawyer College 19-10 during the second day of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament at Alumni Field.

Michael Ficocelli (North Providence, R.I.) continued his strong freshman season, slashing .467/.467/.533, helping guide the Mitchell College baseball team to a 3-0 record on the week, including a 1-0 mark in conference play.
