Men's Tennis Takes Two From Lesley
WESTON, Mass. – The Lesley University men's tennis team dropped a pair of matches to Mitchell College on Sunday afternoon in a New England Collegiate Conference doubleheader played at the Regis College Courts.
The Mariners used 7-2 scores in each of the matches as they improved to 2-3 overall and 2-3 in NECC play. The pair of losses dropped Lesley to 0-7 on the year and 0-7 in the NECC.
In top doubles play, Mitchell junior Orson Sinclair and senior Michael Berman posted a pair of 8-0 victories on the afternoon. The freshmen duo of Matthew Destasio and Nathaniel Bowe used a score of 8-2 to down Lynx rookie Max Anthony and sophomore Alex Bonilla-Guevara in the opening match, before outlasting juniors Pierre St. Simon and Devon Mayo 8-5 in the nightcap.
Sinclair utilized identical set scores of 6-2, 6-4 in both matches over Marcolini in the top singles slot. Berman blanked Anthony 6-0, 6-0 in the first match of the day before defeating the Lesley freshman 6-0, 5-7, 1-0 (10-6) in match two. Destasio, Bowe, and Michale Hartley all picked up a pair of wins at number three, four, and five singles, respectively, to round out the 7-2 triumphs for the Mariners.
Mitchell will next host Wheelock College on Tuesday, April 12 at 3:00 p.m.
