Men's Tennis Shut Out at Regis
WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College men's tennis team swept visiting Mitchell College, 9-0, on Thursday afternoon in New England Collegiate Conference action.
The Pride improved to 13-6 and 6-0 in the NECC, while Mitchell fell to 4-4 and 3-3 in league play.
Regis made quick work of the Mariners in doubles play, allowing only one point across the three matchups. Michael Beluch and Chris Harrow won at No. 1 doubles, with Jarid Polley and Austin Nace adding a win at No. 3 doubles by the matching 8-0 score. Current NECC and ECAC Player of the Week Nathan Cohen and Matt Quattrociocchi defeated Michael Edwards and Zack Rocheleau at No. 2 doubles, 8-1.
In singles play, Beluch, Jeremy Morgenbesser and Nick Hildreth all picked up 6-0, 6-0 wins at No. 1, No. 5, and No. 6 singles, respectively. Cohen and Quattrociocchi added matching 6-0, 6-1 wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, with Harrow rounding out the sweep with a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles over Orson Sinclair.
Both teams are back in action Saturday, April 18 as the Pride will travel to Lesley University for an 11:00 a.m. match, while Mitchell hosts Wheelock College at 12:00 p.m.
