Men's Tennis Earns 7-1 Victory at Johnson & Wales
PROVIDENCE – The Mitchell College men's tennis team picked up
a 7-1 victory in a non-conference contest at Johnson and Wales
Univesity on Tuesday afternoon at the Moses Brown Courts.
Mitchell freshman Rocco Devona posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2
singles and teamed with sophomore Tyler
Engleberg for a 9-7 win at No. 1 doubles. Junior
Adam Samuels had a 7-6, 6-2 victory at No. 4 singles
and posted an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles with senior Chris
White.
Tucker Plimpton picked up the lone victory for JWU, posting a 6-1,
6-2 win at No. 3 singles. With the loss Johnson &
Wales fell to 1-4 overall for the season.
Mitchell remained undefeated at 4-0 on the year. The Mariners
return to action on Saturday, April 10 at home against Becker
College at noon.
