Men's Tennis Drops Season Opener at Regis
WESTON, Mass. – The Mitchell College men's tennis team opened the 2016 season with a 9-0 loss at Regis College on Teusday afternoon.
Regis, the defending New England Collegiate Conference champion, improved to 7-5 on the year and picked up its first league win.
Regis dominated doubles play to jump out to a 3-0 lead. The No. 1 Mitchell duo of Adam Diaz and Orson Sinclair managed to take a game off Chris Harrow and Luke Horton. However, the Pride blanked the Mariners at both No. 2 and 3 by 8-0 finals.
Regis' match-clinching point came at No. 6 singles where Austin Nace defeated Michael Hartley in straight sets (6-1, 6-0). Sinclair put up a fight against Horton at No. 2 but fell 6-3, 6-3.
Mitchell will next host Becker College on Tuesday, March 29 at 3 p.m.
