Landry Named GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week
WINTHROP, Mass. – Mitchell College senior Gemma Landry (Lewiston, ME) has been named Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Goalkeeper of the Week for the sport of women's soccer, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
It was another busy week in goal for Landry, who turned away 25 of 29 shots she faced across two GNAC matches, averaging 12.5 saves per game with a save percentage of .862. Landry faced 11 shots to begin the week against Elms College and made nine saves (save percentage of .818), then produced double-digit saves for the fifth time this fall after stopping 16 shots against Saint Joseph's College (ME) for a .889 save percentage.
Landry enters the new week leading the GNAC in total saves (74) and ranks second in save percentage at .841. The senior is also averaging 14.80 saves per game, most in the nation at the Division III level, while her 74 saves is tied for fifth in the nation at the Division III level.
The Mariners (0-5, 0-5 GNAC) continue conference play when they host Dean College on Wednesday, September 25, with action slated to get underway at 2:00 pm.
