Mariners Place 55 on GNAC Academic All-Conference Team
WINTHROP, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) announced that a record setting 1555 student-athletes were Academic All-Conference Team selections for the 2023-24 school year, 54 of which were from Mitchell College.
In order to be eligible for academic all-conference, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.25 cumulative GPA and have completed second-year academic status. Student-athletes must also have competed in at least one of the conference's 22 championship sports.
Softball led the way with 12 players landing on the Academic All-Conference Team, while women's soccer followed with eight selections and baseball, men's soccer, and men's lacrosse had seven players each meet the criteria.
Lasell's 139 honorees led the conference with eight other schools also eclipsing the century mark. That group included Saint Joseph's (Maine) (132), Norwich (125), Johnson & Wales (110) the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) (110), Dean (106), Regis (104), Emmanuel (103), and Rivier (102).
